When things change...

Supporting families through baby loss

Firstly, if you are reading this page, it is probably due to your own, or someone close to you's loss: I am sorry that your journey has brought you here.

I know that losing a baby is one of the most heart-wrenching experiences a family can endure. If you need it, I am here to provide compassionate, sensitive, and personalised support to you and your family as you have to navigate this profound grief.

Here are some ways I can be there for you:

Emotional Support

Grief can be an overwhelming and isolating experience. I offer a safe and non-judgmental space where you can express your feelings and emotions. Whether you need to talk, cry, or simply sit in silence; I am here to support you through every stage of your grief.

Practical Assistance

During such a challenging time, even the simplest tasks can feel insurmountable. I can provide practical assistance to help ease the burden, including:

  • Helping with daily tasks: meal preparation, household chores and other daily activities.
  • Arranging memorial services: assisting with the planning and logistics of any memorial or remembrance ceremonies.
  • Coordinating care: Connecting you with additional support services, such as counseling, support groups, and other resources tailored to your needs.
Memory-Making

Honoring and remembering your baby is an important part of the healing process. I can help you create lasting memories through:

  • Memory boxes: assembling keepsakes and mementos to cherish your baby's memory.
  • Legacy projects: being with you as you create lasting tributes, such as photo albums, artwork, or other personal tokens of your love.
Continued Care

Grief doesn't follow a set timeline, and the support you need may extend beyond the immediacy of your loss. There are no set rules as to how you deal with this grief and so we can make a bespoke plan that works the way you want it to. Every family's journey through grief is unique. I tailor support to meet your individual needs and preferences, respecting your cultural, spiritual, and personal beliefs. My approach is flexible and adaptable, ensuring that you receive the care that is most meaningful and comforting to you.

When I'm not visiting in person we can have regular check-ins via message or phone call to ensure you have the support you need over time.

I am committed to walking alongside you with empathy, compassion and unwavering support as you navigate this difficult journey. Please reach out whenever you feel ready; I am here for you.

Cost

Loss support is charged at £35 per hour, within a 15 mile radius of Petworth. Any further distance will be chargeable at 50p per mile for each journey.

Always with you...

"It has just been discovered that women carry fetal cells from all the babies they have carried. Crossing the defensive boundaries of our immune system and mixing with our own cells, the fetal cells circulate in the mother's bloodstream for decades after each birth. The body does not tolerate foreign cells, which trigger illness and rejection. But a mother's body incorporates into her own the cells of her children as if they recognize each other, belong to each other. This fantastic melding of two selves, mother and child, is called human microchimerism. My three children are carried in my bloodstream still...

How did we not know this? How can this be a surprise?"
